Defination & Function Of Aluminium Foil

  • Definition Of Aluminium Foil

A film-like metallic paper coated or pasted with silver, usually silver-white, actually aluminum foil. Aluminum foil is also called tinfoil in Hong Kong. It is a kind of thin sheet with a thickness less than 0.2mm processed by an aluminum foil rolling mill. It is mainly used for cooking, holding food in the kitchen, or making some simple and clean materials. Thousands of tons of aluminum foil are used around the world to protect and package food, cosmetics and chemicals.

It's called tinfoil, but it's not paper. It's made of aluminum. In the middle is aluminum, with metal aluminum directly rolled into thin hot stamping material, its hot stamping effect is similar to that of pure silver foil, so it is also called a false silver foil. Because of the color, people in the south are called tinfoil. Because of its soft texture, good ductility and silvery-white luster, aluminum foil can also be printed if the calendered sheet is mounted on offset paper with sodium silicate and other substances. It is commonly used in tobacco and high-grade candy food.

The original tin paper is really made of tin. Tin paper is softer than aluminum foil. Wrapping food will have a little tin smell. At the same time, tin paper can not be heated because of its low melting point, or because of its high heating temperature, such as embrittlement when it reaches above 160 ℃, which limits its use in food packaging. For example, when barbecue food is needed, tin paper can not be used in baking food. Since the advent of aluminum foil, because of its high melting point, it began to melt when heated to above 660 ℃. It can be applied to ordinary barbecue food, baked food, and even traditional Huaji. Aluminum foil is used to wrap and bake, which is clean and sanitary while maintaining the original flavor. Therefore, after the price of aluminum decreased, aluminum foil replaced tin foil in daily life. However, since aluminum will affect the development of the brain, the surface layer of the current aluminum foil will be coated to avoid the release of aluminum.

    The Function Of Aluminium Foil

Aluminum foil paper is usually used to hold food (e.g. aluminum foil tray). When it is used for barbecue, it can wrap bean sprouts, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. for barbecue to prevent them from burning. Sometimes it is used for decoration. Modern aluminum foil is made of aluminum and can also be used as aluminum electrode for electrolysis. Some hairstylists use aluminum foil to perm the hair of their guests. Some people also use aluminum foil to absorb the oil in the soup. Aluminum foil is also widely used as an insulator, heat exchanger, and conductor. Generally, the thickness of aluminum foil used in paper-based beverage packaging and food packaging bags is only 6.5 microns. This thin aluminum layer can be waterproof, keep delicious, anti bacteria and anti fouling. It is very common to use aluminum foil paper trays to hold food. Although aluminum foil paper trays are disposable, they are made of aluminum and do less harm to nature.
